As one of the leading library system providers, HKC proudly announces the creation of LIBRA ROBOT. With the advent of technologies in AI and Robotics, making sure every book return to its proper shelf location becomes a robot’s task.   

LIBRA ROBOT, an autonomous system, makes extensive use of a technology called “Simultaneous Localization and Mapping” (or SLAM for short) that enables the robot to continuously construct and update a map of the library environment while simultaneously keeping track of our robot’s location within it.  Our software application gives the robot the intelligence to locate each bookshelf; even each of the individual horizontal shelf, and read the ISBN numbers off the books on the shelf using RFID technology.  It then compares these ISBN numbers against records in the library database and generates reports for the book inventory and misplaced books for the human librarians to rectify later.

The LIBRA ROBOT not only finds “lost’ books and does inventory, it also functions as a navigation guide for library users. Visitors can simply key in the books they want, and the LIBRA ROBOT will lead them to the destination bookshelf.

In the near future, we will equip LIBRA ROBOT with voice recognition capability and touch panel for interaction with the visitors, thus providing a new height of experience to our library users and making the librarians’ lives a little easier in the process.

Hosted by the HKC Technology (Shanghai) Company Limited under Hong Kong Communications Group, more than 30 government officials, existing and potential LIBRA customers and distributors were cordially invited to participate in the 2018 LIBRA RFID Library Management System Conference at Shanghai JinRong International Hotel on Nov 06, 2017.

During the conference, more than tens of newest LIBRA technologies and equipment were showcased. As a team rookie, the LIBRA ROBOT successfully stole the show and performed awesome navigation and book counting functions in flawless manner. The book reservation system, which came along with the control of smart tag, also illustrated impressive demonstration to the audience. Our honorable guests also provided abundant, constructive and sincere feedback to our working staff. *Senior Care VR Gaming lesson* held successfully at City University, Hong Kong on November 26, 2017. Nearly 270 senior citizens wearing virtual reality glasses (VR) and play the butterfly catching and exercising mobile application, at last 246 people successfully passed the test. As confirmed by the Guinness World Records representative, the event was recorded as the largest senior care lesson achieved by the Hong Kong Computer Society Foundation. Congratulations!

HKC awarded the supply and delivery contract of New Aiphone GT system for both Video and Audio Intercom system for the residential project including 7 Towers and 24 houses in Lot No 578 area 56a, Lai ping road, Kau To Shan. It is the first Aiphone Multi Tower both Video and Audio Intercom system in Hong Kong, its built-in NFC reader that Tenant can use their Octopus card or mobile with NFC function to open the entrance doors. The system reliability is highly concerned for this project.

SingComm has awarded with the contract from Ngee Ann Polytechnic for supplying 21,000 pcs of DVD lockable case and 3 pcs of Media case manual unlocker for their library. 

In response to the requirement of renovation project of Double Cove Block 9, 20B from Samson Wong Design Group, HKC implemented our home automation system in the unit. The system is required to fulfill the demand for easy control and convenience. Sub-systems include lighting control, curtain control, Air conditioner control, LG TV, Blue-Ray player and B&O Amplifier, etc. The system was completed by 23 December, 2018 and is in good operation, they appreciated our professional technical support and customer service.

We have awarded and successfully implemented the provision of conference room control system of Housing Society Elderly Resource Centre. We have provided central control for all the valuable system and equipment in the room like lighting, Curtain, Ultra-short Flow Projector, Projector Screen, AV system and Audio for clear and efficient presentation. Presenter is able to select the ideal scenario with single touch.

From video distribution and wireless presentations to room control, scheduling, and interactive digital signage, our conference room technology can help create an atmosphere that fosters collaboration and improves meeting outcomes.

On November 2017, SingComm has been awarded for reshelving and reorganising project for Singapore Management University –Li Ka Shing Library. We ease the librarians workload by providing them with a good work flow plan to achieve accurate scanning & mapping to the new shelves on level 3. Our service included barcode scanning, providing manpower, and total reshelving tasks are done.

We have been awarded the contract to supply, install and maintain for Video Surveillance and Access Control Security System of Kai Tak “Victoria Skye” residential development. By implementing building access and elevator access control and high definition CCTV surveillance system, our peace-of –mind solution facilitate the prevention of crime and protection of people, public buildings and private property etc.

HKC awarded the supply and Installation contract of Surveillance CCTV system for two new ships from Traway Travel Limited. The system reliability is highly concerned for this project as it is a Surveillance CCTV system in Marine Application and they appreciated our professional technical support and customer service.
