When technology has become wisdom of life, self-service is everywhere in our daily life which aims to advocate the trend of independent consumer. Library automation is no matter is undoubtedly no exception. To librarian, an automatic library environment offers an easier way to access library materials, and allow librarian to provide better service for patrons, facilitate a multitude of tasks such as acquisitions, cataloging, and circulation. To pave way for the full automation of the RFID Library Solution, the library that is already installed with EM system for preventing the unauthorized check-out of books and tampering of pages in any way is more suitable to adopt our newly launched Hybrid RFID/EM Solution. A Hybrid library system is a combination of RFID (HF/UHF) and EM (Electromagnetic) technologies, meant to boost the security system of libraries (thus preventing stealing of items) on one hand, and automate the check-in/out processes and mobile stock take on the other. The system allows the libraries where EM technology is already being used to add RFID systems and add extra reliability to protection of library items. The reverse is also true: EM technology can be installed in libraries where RFID is already working. In addition, this approach and solution offers the flexibility for library to migrate to RFID in phases approach.

A Hybrid (EM+RFID) library system is employed by libraries that require optimal performance for their databases while adding the transparency factor. In a hybrid system, the optimal security of alarms, remote administration at gate and patron counters is ensured.

Patrons can quickly self return items with real-time check-in which items can be assure to check-in instantly upon return. HKC (Shanghai) and Suntech Power Co., Ltd signed off strategic cooperation agreement with distributorship in July 2014. HKC(Shanghai) promotes photovoltaic products with integration in Home Automation System to build a green and intelligent market.

Suntech Power Co.Ltd was established in November, 2006 and located in Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park, Minhang District, Shnaghai. The company has over 1,700 staff and it is specializes in solar photovoltaic cells, product research and development, manufacturing, sales and after-sales service.

of the Elderly Modern Life 2014

Shanghai is heading to aging society nowadays which elderly market holds great market potential. The exposition will hold by Shanghai Services Federation, co-organized by Shanghai Oriental International Trade Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., which will take place in Shanghai Exhibition Centre from the period of November 29 to December 1. The exposition was build up with 7 sub-theme of "healthy living, cultural living, emotional living, travel living, home life, wealth management, rehabilitation living", to promote enhancement of quality life of elderly by advanced technologies.

We are pleased to announce that Hong Kong Communications Co., Ltd (HKC) has been awarded Silver Award in the Category of Winning IoT Technology. Our entire solution is "HKC Real Time Location Tracking System Application Platform" applied in Sik Sik Yuen - well-known shrine and major tourist attraction in Hong Kong. The solution is the first locally developed Real Time Location Tracking Solution applied in tourist site to achieve 100% tractability, visibility and improved operational effectiveness via mobile phone device (a non-tag application). The purpose of the application is to provide better tourist and visitor service and customer experience while improving the operation efficiency of Sik Sik Yuen. The award provides a recognition and affirmation of HKC in the tourist industry, and provides us an opportunity to share and extend the similar application to other industries in Hong Kong and Greater China.

The facility booking system operates in 24/7 basis, which would bring convenience and flexibility to residents. Apart from bringing great life experience and enhance quality of life, advanced technology can also helps the weak to retrieve to normal life for independent living. HKC has awarded for a project in Tseung Kwan O Hospital to demonstrate how intelligent solution helps patient who are rehabilitating from occupational therapy to retrieve and resume to their normal life. A demonstration room with simulating home setting was set up to display how HKC's application supports activities of daily living. The demo room is set up with HKC's Intelligent Control System (including Lighting Control, Air-conditioning/Fan Control, Curtain Control, AV and Home Theatre), Security System (including Video Door Phone System, Alarm System and Wireless Panic Button, IP Camera Monitoring) Wi-Fi System, Tailor-made GUI with scenario setting via iPad and PC. These patients can experience how they can enjoy their independent living after treatment with the help of all these system.

Introduction

In support of Singapore's vision 2030, "Live BETTER through sports", the Singapore Sports Hub Library, is the centre of sports knowledge for the community at large as well as the sports professionals.

Focusing on sports and ACTIVE recreation, the library will be opened to THE GENERAL public to encourage the people to embrace sports as a healthy lifestyle.

In addition to providing sports related library's resources and services, also plans and develops library activities and programmes to support the events and programmes in Sports Hub and to cater to different types of users including sports professionals, those who are active in sports and those who are keen to make sports a part of their life.

Other facilities available in the library will include video viewing stations, virtual sports stations, giant chess and checkers, internet stations, MEETING ROOMS, and kid's zone.
