HKC has been awarded the Family-Friendly Employer 2011

We are pleased to announce that Hong Kong Communications Co., Ltd (HKC) is awarded Family-Friendly Employer 2011 organized by The Family Council. This award is to give recognition to business companies and firms that demonstrate a family-friendly spirit and encourage them to implement family-friendly employment policies and practices. These policies and practices are intended to help employees fully balance their work and family lives, thus bring benefits to employers and employees, in order to improve morale, enhance working relationships and reduce staff turnover.

The policies and practices are classified into 4 categories:

1) Job-related Family-friendly Employment Policies and Practices
  - Allow employees to manage their time to take into account their family commitment, e.g. flexible working hours
   
2) Employee and Family Care Arrangements
  - Consider the family situation of the employees and have a positive impact on their family life, e.g. compassionate leave, occupational safety and health measures etc
   
3) Employee and Family Care Benefits and Support
  - offered to employees and / or their family members which have a positive impact on their family life, e.g. study allowances, complimentary / discount on corporate goods or services
   
4) Outside-the-workplace Family-friendly Employment Policies and Practices
  - promote work-life balance and family core values, e.g. social gatherings
   
HKC will continue to be devoted as a family friendly employer and promote a culture of work-life balance and loving families in the community. This can become a main driver for social harmony and establish a closer and harmonious relationship among family members.
